講 義 内 容

講 義 概 要

Through engaging with wordplay, students are guided to appreciate the importance of wordplay in English, and understand the cognitive processes, affective challenges, and other aspects involved. This helps them learn the necessity of foreign language (English) education for children. In this context, students develop practical teaching skills using active learning methods that foster self-directed, interactive, and in-depth learning. Additionally, they will have conduct hands-on teaching practice at Shoin Kindergarten.

到 達 目 標

The goal of foreign language (English) education in kindergartens and elementary schools is to develop the following abilities:

- To understand the basic theories of early English education.
- To acquire foundational skills for implementing instruction based on the theories of early English education.

2:Understanding the relationship between brain function and language
3:Understanding the relationship between age and language.
4:What is English?
  From the origins of English as a language to understanding the importance of English for students.
5:The state of English education for children in Japan: based on history.
6:The state of English-language education for children worldwide.
7:Understanding the timeliness of the five skills for children.
8:Understanding the Relationship between Listening and Speaking and Brain Development.
9:Understanding the Relationship between Reading and Writing and Brain Development.
10:Types of Teaching Materials and Tools Used in Children's English and Practical Usage.
11:Consider teaching for young learners  ( 3-6 years old).
12:Consider teaching for young learners  ( 6-9 years old).
13:Mock class and presentation (1)
14:Mock class and presentation (2)
15:Summary: Understanding the qualities and abilities required of a leader.

評 価 方 法

The student will be evaluated comprehensively based on the following:
-Assignments that test the fundamentals of English education for children (50%)
and practice lesson and presentation:
-A comprehensive evaluation will be made based on the content of the mock class, practical training at a kindergarten, and Classroom English presentation (50%).

授業の方法

対面

The syllabus is subject to change as we plan to conduct practical training (fieldwork) at kindergartens, etc., but the classes will consist of lectures, exercises, and practical training.

Materials will be distributed in class as appropriate.

Students are advised to read the relevant materials in advance and to prepare well enough to conduct a mock class or other activities in class.

Assessments will be made on each submitted assignment and the mock class. For the kindergarten classes, an assessment meeting will be held the following week with each student.
