This course has two purposes. First, in preparation for other literature courses in the Faculty of International Studies, students will have the opportunity to read a number of short stories and analyze them according to their characterization, setting, plot, point of view, rhetoric, etc. Second, in order to enhance their ability to understand literature, students will increase their English language skills (vocabulary and grammar) as well as their critical thinking skills. This class will be taught in English and all the classwork and assignments will be done in English.
If you have 4.5 or more unexcused absences, you will not receive credit for the class. Absences will be calculated as follows: Absent = 1 absence, Late (over 5 minutes) 0.5 absence. Thus, if you are late more than 5 minutes two times, that will count as 1 absence.
